Gifts and Hospitality Policy for Employees and Elected Members | The main aims of the Gifts and Hospitality Policy are to: Ensure consistency of approach when dealing with gifts and hospitality; Ensure compliance with Council policy and procedures including Codes of Conduct, the Anti-Fraud, Bribery and Corruption Policy. Ensure compliance with the Seven Principles of Public Life and the Northern Ireland Assembly Five Principles of Conduct. (Appendix 1) Establish guidance for all Employees and Elected Members to follow to ensure that the Council can demonstrate that no undue influence has been applied by an external organisation dealing with the Council; and Protect Council Officers and Elected Members from criticism and misunderstanding and to protect the Council from allegations of impropriety. Policy and procedure on the Flying of the Union Flag at Council Buildings | The Notice of Motion aimed to align Council with “the new guidance published by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport to have the Union flag flown on Council and Civic buildings every day (365 days)” . Agile Working Policy | Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council recognises the need to develop modern working practices that enable employees to maximise their performance whilst maintaining a good work life balance. The Council is seeking to strike a balance between employees work commitments, and the faster pace of personal and working lives. Agile working gives employees the opportunity to work flexibly from any location, whether it is from a Council building, within the community and client sites or by varying degrees of home working. Although the nature of most roles within Council cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is considerable scope in many cases for some form of agile working. The different ways in which agile working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the role, the individual’s preferences and circumstances and the service an employee is engaged in. Elite Athlete / Gold Card Scheme | The aim of this Scheme is to give recognition to all sports persons from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough area that have attained Provincial or International level or are National Champions in their chosen sport. Such sports persons will (subject to meeting minimum designated criteria), be admitted to the Elite Athlete / Gold Card Scheme and will be permitted to use on an individual basis identified facilities owned and managed by Council on a complimentary basis.
