Age A Better Future Together plan contains specific reference to all people of Causeway Coast
and Glens (encompassing all age groups) promoting healthy, safe, and resilient communities.
Causeway Coast and Glens has an aging population. This trend is projected to increase
beyond 2030.

Current census data shows that proportion of older people has increased from 15% (2011)
to 19% (2021) in the Borough.
Evidence shows that if you plan for older and younger people you in effect plan for everyone.
The intention of A Better Future Together plan is therefore to improve wellbeing outcomes for
people of all ages, by giving them the support they need in early and later life. Several our
community plan delivery plan actions such as the Age Friendly Strategy and Loneliness
Network are likely to have to a positive impact for older people. There are specific actions
that will also have a positive impact on younger people including, children and young people
collaborative working, loneliness network and childhood obesity. In addition, in the main
most actions within the community plan delivery plan are likely to benefit those of all ages.
