Equality Action Plan summary of responses

Respondents noted the range of actions in the Equality Action Plan and felt that they were ambitious, pushing boundaries and would result in continuous improvement.

Respondents felt the actions would require annual reporting to ensure the timescales were realistic and to support their achievement within the plan’s short lifespan.

Respondents highlighted the importance of awareness training and felt that the Diversity Ambassador would promote further engagement.

Respondents suggested Council identify ways to "better understand peoples’ diverse needs" and then to identify ways "to help address them".

Respondents suggested Council provide further information on accessible toilets, provide audio description and improve their accessible signage.
