Town & Village Management

The Borough has two regional hubs - Coleraine and Limavady, and two further local hubs in Ballymoney and Ballycastle.  The area is also home to around 40 villages and smaller settlements.  Council plays an important role in supporting traders, residents and visitors - whether it be through its regeneration remit or supporting local trade.  Past projects have included village regeneration programmes and town centre landscaping through partnership working with government departments.

Council recognises the importance of the continuing development of these settlements.  Town Masterplans have been developed for each of the main towns, and a series of village plans have also been created in consultation with a wide range of stakeholders.

The Village Renewal Plans give an opportunity for small settlements to improve their area, while the Council will revisit each of the Town Centre Masterplans over the next few years.

Our Town Centre Forums are advisory groups consisting of members of the local community, business owners, elected representatives and Council officials
