Council undertakes the manual sweeping of roadways, streets, footpaths and litter picking of urban/rural roads, pedestrian precincts, open spaces and the servicing of litter bins.
Under the Litter (Northern Ireland) Order 1994, it is a criminal offence to drop litter or to dump rubbish.
