Visitors to Ballymoney Museum took a walk on the wild side at the Causeway Safari Tale Fun Day, held on Saturday 28th September.

Over 600 visitors were greeted by a selection of friendly animals including alpacas, a miniature horse, snakes, tortoises, rabbits, sheep and other animals from Corbally Mobile Fun Farm & Reindeer Hire.

Once inside, children enjoyed their find the animal treasure hunt, face painting, balloon modelling and a walk about Tiger friend.

There was also the opportunity to meet and chat with Benvardin kennels who are now situated on what was once the site of the Causeway Safari Park.

Both adults and children thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to have their photographs taken with our lion cubs and created into a badge to capture their visit to the Causeway Safari Tale exhibition, and in some cases to relive days of visiting the park itself.

The Causeway Safari Tale exhibition is open Monday – Saturday 9.30am-4.40pm and is open until March 2025.

The next event to be held as part of our Safari programme will be a documentary screening of ‘The Lion Game’ which recalls the days of the Causeway Safari Park, featuring a few familiar faces.

There will also be an opportunity to view photographs and share memories over refreshments. This will take place on Thursday 24th October at 7.30pm.
