The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has welcomed news that Antrim Coast & Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) has been voted one of the best in the UK.

Stretching from Ballycastle down to Larne, it was named Northern Ireland's top AONB by members of Which?, the UK’s leading independent consumer body.

As well as this, it was rated the third favourite beauty spot across England, Wales and Northern Ireland with Causeway Coast AONB also taking a spot in the top ten.

Over 8000 Which? readers rated the areas on a range of categories including scenery, facilities, walks, wildlife and food and drink.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Alderman Mark Fielding, said: “We are justifiably proud of our Borough’s stunning coastline and countryside, and the areas deserves this endorsement for all they have to offer.

“For those of us who live here, we are fortunate to be surrounded by such incredible landscapes which clearly make such a positive impression on our visitors.
