Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council facilities update
Wed, November 25, 2020
The following Council facilities will close from Friday 27th November for a two week period in line with restrictions agreed by the Northern Ireland Executive:
- Council leisure centres and sports centres.
- Council sports pitches.
- Council operated tennis courts in Ballycastle, Coleraine, Castlerock, Portstewart, Portrush, Portballintrae.
- Council golf courses at Ballyreagh and Benone.
Flowerfield Arts Centre, Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre along with Council’s Museums will also remain closed while community centres are open only for essential childcare services.
Holiday and Leisure Parks will remain accessible for static vans only for those already resident; for work-related purposes; for vulnerable people; for those in emergency situations; and people unable to return to their main address. Associated facilities including toilets, washrooms, touring facilities, and pods will be closed.
These measures are part of new restrictions agreed by the NI Executive to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 within the community.
The single most important action we can all take to fight coronavirus, to save lives, and to help our Health and Social Care system cope with current pressures is to stay at home.
There should be no household gatherings, other than those involving support bubbles.
You should work from home if at all possible. Only leave for essential purposes such as education, healthcare needs, to care for others, or outdoor exercise.
We would urge everyone to follow this guidance, and we want to thank the public for their ongoing understanding during these challenging times.
Please continue to check our social media channels for the latest updates in the weeks ahead.
