Cinemagic’s Foodbanks initiative returns to Flowerfield Arts Centre with a screening of Revolting Rhymes

Mon, February 20, 2023

Flowerfield Arts Centre has teamed up with Cinemagic for a special film event which will support the vital work of Causeway Foodbank.

Revolting Rhymes, based on the extraordinary book by Roald Dahl, will be screened on Saturday 4th March at 2pm, and audience members are asked to bring along non-perishable food and other essential items which will be distributed to local families in the Coleraine, Portstewart and Portrush areas instead of paying an entry fee.

The initiative is part of Cinemagic’s Young Audiences Support Foodbanks scheme, which Flowerfield first took part in last summer. Throughout 2022, the scheme collectively generated over 1.5 tonnes of donations for Foodbanks across Northern Ireland.

Revolting Rhymes is the perfect family film which mixes the classic fairy tales of Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, The Three Little Pigs, Jack & the Beanstlk and Cinderella, serving them with a mischievous twist.

If you want to join us for this special event, pre-book your ticket by going to www.wegottickets.com/cinemagic or www.flowerfield.org and bring along your foodbank items on the day.

The Foodbank would be particularly grateful to receive UHT milk, jam, Supernoodles, pasta and pasta sauce, biscuits, treats, shampoo, conditioner, and any toiletries for men.

Causeway Food Bank is part of a nationwide network of food banks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Rather than paying for a regular ticket to gain entry to the Cinemagic film screening, audiences are asked to donate an essential item / food item on the day needed by the Food Bank to support the local community.

Please check that items are in date and have an expiry of 1-3 months.
