Cloughmills Bio Park needs your vote as it aims to win the Fields in Trust Uk's Best Park award.
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and Cloughmills Community Action Team have been working closely to develop the former mill site as a community resource.
It is a place where people can connect with each other and the natural environment, learn new skills or simply enjoy a nice walk and a chat.
The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Alderman Maura Hickey said: “This nomination signifies the vital role the park plays in the local community and the inspiration it provides to the people who visit. A vote for the park would be a measure of recognition for the voluntary community in Cloughmills who contribute their time and efforts into making the Bio Park what it is today.”
One example of the innovation displaid through the park is the Free Range Families project - an outdoor parent and toddler group reconnecting babies, toddlers and their families with the natural environment.
A spokesperson for the project said: “Cloughmills Bio Park was the inspiration behind our idea for this project and it is a perfect setting. Everyone who participates, regardless of age, leaves each session having gained something. We have witnessed the project growing and now have a membership of approximately 29 babies and toddlers. The Bio Park is core to this growth and we look forward to the development of the park over the coming years.”
