Council goes Pink

As part of her campaign Melissa has dyed her flowing blonde locks pink for the entire month of October and is running a ‘Pink for purpose Raffle’ which will be drawn at Cloonavin on 30th October. As October is breast cancer awareness month, Cancer Focus NI has asked everyone to ‘Think Pink!’ and help support local women. The mkonth long campaign aims to highlight the signs and symptoms of breast cancer. The charity will host a range of fundraising events to help generate much needed funds to help local women. Local campaigner Melissa Lemon, a Policing Community Safety Officer at Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has launched a campaign with support from the Mayor. The campaign, which will see Melissa dye her flowing blonde locks pink throughout the entire month of October will include a ‘Pink for purpose Raffle’, drawn at Cloonavin on 30th October. The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Michelle Knight-McQuillan said, “I am looking forward to Pink Month at Cloonavin! The building will remain in pink lightning throughout the entire month of October to encourage everyone to ‘Think Pink! For breast Cancer awareness’ and support Melissa’s fundraising campaign. ”Many people have been in some way effected by Cancer, having either battled with the disease or know someone who has. This is a fun way to raise money and awareness, Melissa has worked very hard to secure some fantastic items for the raffle.
