Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is proud to announce the launch of a new, cutting-edge Grants and Funding Dashboard, as part of our ongoing commitment to enhance transparency and accessibility for residents.

Developed by our GIS (Geographic Information System) team, this interactive tool provides a comprehensive overview of grants and funding applications awarded to local organisations during the 2023-2024 financial year.

The new dashboard is not just a list of numbers, but an engaging visual experience that presents funding data in a dynamic and user-friendly format. Accessible on all devices, the dashboard allows users to explore detailed information through a series of interactive maps, charts, and filters.

Whether you are a community member, local business owner, or researcher, you can now easily access up-to-date information on how Council’s financial resources are being allocated to support various community initiatives.

Nial McSorley, Digital Services Manager responsible for the GIS team, praised the new dashboard for its user-centric design and accessibility.

He said: “Our goal was to create a tool that is not only informative but also engaging and easy to navigate. The dashboard’s interactive features, such as map visualisation and data queries, make it simple for users to find exactly what they are looking for, whether they’re on a desktop, tablet, or mobile device. This is a big step forward in improving transparency and making Council’s data more open and accessible.”

Jayne McAleese, GIS Analyst and lead developer of the dashboard, highlighted its key features, saying: “We wanted to showcase the geographic distribution of funding across the region while providing meaningful insights through data analytics. The map functionality allows users to see funding distribution across different areas, while the built-in filters and query options provide a customised view of the data that can be tailored to the user’s specific interests.”

Patricia O’Brien, Funding Unit Manager, emphasized the value of the dashboard for both staff and the public, adding: “This self-service dashboard is a game-changer for our organisation. It allows Council staff to access funding data more efficiently and provides our members and the public with a transparent view of how funding decisions are made. This level of transparency fosters greater trust and engagement within the community.”

The new Grants and Funding Dashboard is now live and accessible via the Council’s website. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to explore the dashboard and provide feedback as the Council continues to refine this tool to meet the evolving needs of the community.
