Council’s Tourism and Recreation fund shared across the Borough

Community, music and sporting events are set to benefit from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough's Council's Tourism and Recreation funding programme.
Since 2015, £250,000 has been set aside every year to help support the fantastic variety of annual events held in the Borough.
This year, Stendhal Festival, Ballymoney Show, Heart of the Glens Festival, the Foyle Cup and Pirates off Portrush have all benefited from the 'large events grants' while 'small events grants' have been awarded to the Northern Ireland Potato Festival and Roe Valley Folk Festival.
The North West 200, SuperCup NI, Armoy Road Races and the North West Pipe Band Championships will also receive funding under a three year 'ring-fenced' arrangement.
The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Joan Baird OBE said: "Right across the Borough we have a fantastic variety of events which help to make the Causeway Coast and Glens a stand-out destination. Many of these are internationally recognised and attract large numbers of visitors due to their reputation for excellence. Council is delighted to provide this important financial support which supplements the efforts of organisers, community groups and volunteers in many of our towns and villages. Our area prides itself on being a great place to live, work and visit and our events offering makes a huge contribution to this."
This is the third year of Council’s Tourism Event Fund which was established to support new and existing event organisers.
