Hailed by many as the ‘greatest film ever made’, the Academy Award winning film has made it the number one slot of numerous film rankings by not only film critic’s but in general public polls. This has included being voted, five consecutive times as the greatest film of all time by Sight & Sound 's polls of critics. Desima Connolly of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s, Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre commented, “Citizen Kane was originally released in 1941. The film was produced, directed, co-written and even starred the magnificent Orson Welles at the height of his talent. ”Starring as the enigmatic, self-made newspaper magnate Charles Foster Kane, the film traces his intriguing climb to recognition and riches. With an all-star cast including Joseph Cotton, this is a rare chance to see this astounding film at the centre. I’d encourage anyone interested in attending to book their tickets as soon as possible as I’m certain this will be a popular screening.” Citizen Kane will be screened as part of Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre’s ‘Classic Saturday Screenings’ programme. The programme, which is funded by Film Hub NI, offers a variety of classic films which will be screened on the last Saturday of each month at 2.00pm.
