LiveSmart Community Environmental Grant Programme set to open

LiveSmart Community Environmental Grant Programme set to open

Mon, May 10, 2021

A new funding scheme to help local groups improve and protect the environment has been launched by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.

The LiveSmart Community Environmental Grant Programme will provide small grants of up to £500 to community and voluntary organisations who want to:

  • Improve general cleanliness and tackle litter.
  • Promote recycling, reusing and waste reduction.
  • Look at ways of reducing our carbon footprint through simple, practical actions.

Welcoming the new grant programme, the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Alderman Mark Fielding said: “Our Borough is renowned for its beautiful scenery and visitor experience. We want to work with our local communities to preserve this for the future.

“Along with our own Council staff there are many volunteers who work tirelessly to protect the natural environment we all share. I would encourage our community and voluntary sector to participate in this grant programme so we can continue to make changes for the better together.”

The new grant programme will complement Council’s ongoing LiveSmart initiative by engaging communities to raise environmental standards across the Borough where we live, work and relax.

LiveSmart, delivered by Council’s Environmental Resource team, aims to encourage, inform and involve all our residents and visitors to take simple steps to live more lightly on our planet.

The grant scheme opens on Tuesday 11th May 2021 until Friday 18th June 2021.

Applications should be submitted online at http://causeway.eformz.info, where guidance on completing the application online can also be found.
