Blanket Earth project launched

A unique piece of art which measures twice the size of the Titanic has been launched in Ballycastle.
The Blanket Earth project, created by Paul Mack, aims to inspire love, change and kindness.
He has worked with pupils from St Mary's Primary School on Rathlin Island and Cross and Passion College in Ballycastle as part of his mission to involve schools from around the world.
Pieces of the blanket were on display at Ballycastle seafront at the weekend, where the public were encouraged to add their own messages of hope.
On Friday, The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Alderman Maura Hickey, visited Cross and Passion College where she met some pupils who contributed to the huge fabric.
Speaking about the project, she said: "I would like to commend Paul Mack and all those who have helped with the creation of this project. It is clear to see that a lot of thought and effort has gone into it, and it really is a piece of beauty. Paul's enthusiasm is infectious and I wish him all the best as he brings the blanket to Belfast, Europe and beyond."
Paul now intends to travel to Europe with the blanket, with visits planned to Lisbon, Barcelona, Nice and Berlin
