Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is inviting members of the public to an open community event on Thursday 30th June at 7.30pm in Coleraine Town Hall.

The Making Connections evening will provide an opportunity for individuals to take part in informal discussions to help shape the future of local museum services while meeting with others who share similar interests.

Light refreshments will be provided and all those who attend will receive a free goody pack, featuring new publications from Museum Services.

The event will include performances from Glenarm storyteller, Colin Urwin, who will share some songs and a story from the Sam Henry Collection while you will also hear stories about objects of interest from Ballycastle, Ballymoney, Coleraine, Garvagh and Limavady Collections from museum supporters in the community.

Welcoming the opportunity for people to get involved, the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Ivor Wallace, said: “Museums provide a sense of place, and they help to tell the story of our Borough. We want our residents to feel a sense of connection with them, so please come along to this special event to share your ideas and find out more about the wonderful objects and artefacts which make up our museums’ collection.

“Whether you represent a local group or simply wish to attend yourself, everyone will be made most welcome.”

If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to cms@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk or call 028 2766 0230.
