The event was organised by Enterprise Causeway in partnership with Causeway Coast and Glen’s Labour Market Partnership (LMP), Ulster University, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s Enterprising Women and Causeway Chamber.
Taking place on International Women’s Day, the event provided the opportunity to hear from an impressive range of speakers, with representatives from business, education, politics, health and the community sector.
Host Caroline O’Neill led a series of thought-provoking discussions highlighting the many achievements of women from all fields, while also reflecting on ongoing challenges preventing many from realising their full potential.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Mayor Councillor Kathleen McGurk said: “This was a fantastic event featuring some inspirational speakers and panellists, who shared their stories, experiences and challenges and gave an insight into how they are making a difference within their respective communities.”
Dearbháile Hutchinson, LMP Development Officer added: “This event provided the opportunity to celebrate the important contribution women from all sectors have made and continue to make to our society. The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day was equity and therefore it is important that we recognise the work needed to make our society more inclusive for everyone.”
This event was part funded by the Department for Communities through their Labour Market Partnership initiative. To find out more about the programme visit causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk/lmp or email lmp@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk
