Making good use of Household Recycling Centres this Christmas
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council wishes to remind residents of the wide range of options available to help dispose of waste products this Christmas.
Christmas and the New Year sees an abundance of gifts, wrapping paper and packaging and many people don’t know how to dispose of these properly.
As it is always better to reuse rather than recycle, Council first urges that people consider donating unwanted goods including clothes, toys, furniture and much more to charitable organisations. In doing so they are helping those less fortunate while also reducing waste!
The most common way of responsibly disposing of waste is in the bins. The blue recycling bin can be used for paper, card, plastic bottles and tubs, glass and more.
If after this, there are still materials that need recycling including larger items such as Christmas trees, these can be taken to the various Household Recycling Centres in the borough.
These recycling facilities are free at the point of use. This means residents can drop off the items and materials they no longer need at any of the Household Recycling centres for free!
So over this holiday season make use of your waste infrastructure and drop all unwanted items from round the house, shed, garage or attic at your local recycling centre. It makes sense financially and environmentally to do so!
