Mayor highlights the work of Ballycastle Cancer Research Committee

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Ciarán McQuillan has hosted a reception for the committee members of Ballycastle Cancer Research.

First established in 1960, the group aims to support the work of Cancer Research UK.

Throughout the year, the charity hosts various fundraising events, including coffee mornings and afternoon tea, supermarket collections while they also place collection buckets in local businesses.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Ciarán McQuillan has praised the work of the group saying: “The team from Ballycastle Cancer Research provide vital support to help fundraising efforts for the charity.

“The group give up their time freely for these varied events, and in the process have helped change the lives of many local people, who are living with cancer.

“I was delighted to meet the group today and hear how their most recent annual fundraising event raised £1,800 for the charity, I would like to thank them all for their commitment.”
