Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council supports enhanced COVID-19 testing in Ballymoney

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is calling on residents in targeted areas of Ballymoney to get tested for COVID-19.
His appeal comes as the Public Health Agency announced plans to test asymptomatic people in selected neighbourhoods within the town.
A number of probable cases of the Delta variant have been identified and it’s hoped that testing for all, regardless of whether they are displaying symptoms or not, will help to curb transmissions.
Encouraging participation in the testing process, Councillor Richard Holmes said: “The Public Health Agency is taking this precautionary step to prevent further infections and we need co-operation at this time. Everyone over the age of 5 in these selected areas should come forward for a test to protect the wider community. Letters will be sent to relevant households from today (Friday 18th June 2021).
“As a Council we are supporting the PHA’s efforts, and we are calling on our resident to do the same. Across the Borough we must continue to follow public health advice and ensure that we all adhere to what is being asked of us around good hand hygiene, social distancing and face coverings to keep each other safe.
“I want to recognise the ongoing efforts of our communities to protect each other from COVID-19 by following the guidance and getting vaccinated. These measures will make a difference so thank you for playing your part.”
“For residents across the rest of the Borough, our message remains the same - if you're eligible book a vaccination, if you’re displaying symptoms get tested and when you’re going about your daily lives always follow the hands, face, space advice.

Coleraine Leisure Centre.
Quay Road Playing Fields, Ballycastle.
Dunluce Centre Car Park, Portrush.
The Pits (Opposite Rinagree Coastal Park), Portrush Road, Portstewart.
A walk-through centre is located at Ulster University (Car Park 4), Cromore Road, Coleraine.
