Mon, June 04, 2018
Members of Marie Curie Moyle have enjoyed a civic reception with the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
The event was held in honour of the group's volunteers who were recently named 'Fundraising Group of the Year' at the charity's Excellence Awards.
Marie Curie Moyle was established over 20 years ago and in that time members have raised millions of pounds for the terminal illness charity.
The Mayor Councillor Joan Baird OBE said: "The commitment and dedication shown by the group's volunteers is truly inspiring and their recent success at the Excellence Awards is thoroughly deserved.
“I was delighted to have this opportunity to show Council's gratitude for their efforts. The money raised by the group over almost three decades has made a real difference to all of those who have experienced the support provided by the charity. We cannot underestimate the positive impact this has made to those living with a terminal illness, their family and friends. I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to everyone involved and I wish them all the very best for the future.”
