Mon, October 12, 2015

There is a feast of frightening events lined up for residents and visitors of the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough at the Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre this Halloween. Deima Connolly, Causeway Cost and Glens Borough Council’s Arts and Cultural Services Manager at Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre, said, “There will be a variety of events this Halloween at the centre including; a Scary Art Clubs’ for children, a Halloween themed Creative Writing Course, a ‘Halloween Disco’ and a talk on Wizards in Folklore! “Only those very brave will dare to come along to the special Midnight Movie Film Screening of Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece… ‘The Shining’, which will be shown on Friday, 30th October at 10.30pm. “Hailed as one of the best films ever made, this 1980 release stars a menacing Jack Nicholson as Jack Torrance, who becomes winter caretaker at the isolated Overlook Hotel in Colorado, hoping to cure his writer's block. As his writing goes nowhere and his family settle into a long winter at the empty hotel, he discovers the hotel's dark secrets and begins to unravel. “The screening, funded by Film Hub NI, is rated certificate 15 and is sure to see you trembling into the wee hours of Halloween morning! I’d recommend anyone interested in attending to ensure they book in advance as numbers will be limited.” For further information on events at Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre telephone Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre on 028 7776 0650 or visit the website at www.roevalleyarts.com.
