PCSP Midnight Soccer programme on target with young people

MORE than 500 young people across the area are taking part in Causeway Coast and Glens Policing and Community Safety Partnership’s Midnight Soccer scheme.

The project, which works in partnership with Council’s Sports Development Department, is delivered at venues across the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area.

Midnight Soccer targets young people particularly aged 12 to 17, and is held on Friday evenings. The scheme currently attracts 120 young people in the Limavady area, 90 in Moyle, 70 in Ballymoney and 60 in Coleraine. Other sports initiatives, including table tennis are also offered to participants.

Chair of the Causeway Coast and Glens PCSP, Councillor James McCorkell said: “PCSP is delighted to fund the delivery of the Midnight Soccer scheme and numbers attending clearly demonstrate the project’s popularity with young people across the borough on a weekly basis.”
