Portstewart Promenade - New Perspective
Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council has released a perspective of the final scheme design currently under construction along the Promenade. The scheme includes high quality street lighting, new surfaces on both sides of the Promenade and new street furniture.
Mayor of Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council, Councillor Michelle Knight-McQuillan welcomed the scheme as a major improvement to one of Portstewart’s most important assets, she commented, “The Promenade is a significant competitive advantage for Portstewart. Council, with the support of the Department for Social Development, wish to ensure the asset is appropriately optimised for both residents and visitors alike”.
Construction of the £1,500,000 project by the main contractor Geda LLP started in January 2016. Despite unfavourable weather conditions progress remains on target for a late May 2016 completion.
