PUBLIC NOTICE: East Strand Promenade Repairs Scheme in Portrush

Please be advised that works are about to commence on site for the East Strand Promenade Repairs Scheme in Portrush.  It is envisaged the contract will be completed by mid to end of May 2016.  Contractors BSG Civil Engineering Ltd will be erecting fencing panels on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th of March on the western end of the promenade in the vicinity of the Watersports Centre, to secure this portion of the site for the 1st phase of works.  Pedestrian access along the remaining sections of the promenade will still be possible, as will access on to the beach, except via the main set of steps directly in front of the Watersports Centre.  Appropriate signage will be erected on site to inform members of the public and to demarcate alternative pedestrian routes.  As the contract progresses, the contractors will move eastwards along the beach and promenade towards the Whiterocks, and where possible repaired sections of steps will be re-opened to facilitate further beach access.  Throughout the contract, the contractors and Council will endeavour to minimise public disruption and inconvenience and disseminate public information in a timely manner.  For queries or further information please contact the Project Manager on 028 7034 7034. Keep up to date with changes and progress by going to Council’s Facebook page, CausewayCoastandGlensCouncil.
