PUBLIC NOTICE: East Strand Promenade Repairs Scheme in Portrush

UPDATE: Works are proceeding well and the contractors (BSG Civil Engineering Ltd) are now working at a second set of steps along the promenade, and consequently these are also now closed for public access. Public access to the beach is still retained at 4 access points and access is still possible along certain sections of the promenade. The accompanying aerial image of the site shows red shaded areas indicating the current works areas which are out-of-bounds, with red ‘X’ indicating no public access via these steps. The green arrows show the access points onto the beach, and the green dotted lines show the accessible pedestrian routes along the promenade.  It is envisaged the contract will be completed by May 2016.  Throughout the contract, the contractors and Council will work to minimise disruption to the public and to provide up-to-date information.  For queries or further information please contact Leisure & Development Services on 028 7034 7234. Keep up to date with changes and progress by going to Council’s Facebook page, CausewayCoastandGlensCouncil.
