Queen Elizabeth II 90th Birthday Celebrations in the Borough

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Michelle Knight-McQuillan and the Lord Lieutenant of County Londonderry, Mr Denis Desmond CBE with the guests of the Coleraine Tea Party.


This year Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 90th Birthday.  In recognition of this milestone, Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Michelle Knight McQuillan hosted a tea party.

Special guests, The Lord Lieutenant of County Antrim, Mrs Joan Christie OBE (who attended the Ballymoney Tea Party) and the Lord Lieutenant of County Londonderry, Mr Denis Desmond CBE (who attended the Coleraine Tea Party) joined the Mayor. Guests invited to the tea party were those who share a 1926 birthday with The Queen, from throughout the Borough.

The Mayor also held a Reception for baby Lois Elizabeth Loughridge and her parents Adam and Gillian in which she gifted her a special coin and booties. Lois was born on The Queen’s birthday, 21st April in Causeway Hospital.
