Remembering together across the Causeway Coast and Glens

Mon, November 11, 2019

A number of events took place across the Causeway Coast and Glens on November 10th to mark Remembrance Sunday.

Poppy wreathes were laid on behalf of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council in poignant tribute to the fallen.

The Deputy Mayor Alderman Sharon McKillop attended a service at the War Memorial in Bushmills, alongside members of the local community, veterans and cadets. Earlier this month she joined Royal British Legion members in Coleraine for the launch of the local Poppy Appeal.

This year The RBL encouraged people to ‘remember together’ the service and sacrifice of those who died in conflict, especially those who fought alongside each other 75 years ago in 1944.

Remembrance Services in the Borough will conclude on Sunday 17th November when a service will be held at St Thomas’ Church on Rathlin Island followed by wreath laying in the adjoining church yard.
