Remembrance services held across the Borough

Mon, November 13, 2017

Remembrance services have been held in towns and villages across the Causeway Coast and Glens.

The Mayor, Councillor Joan Baird OBE, attended the service in Coleraine where she laid a wreath at the war memorial

She said: “Remembrance Sunday is a hugely significant date which allows us to join together to remember the sacrifices of the fallen. It provides an opportunity for reflection and is a powerful reminder of lives lost which must never be forgotten. This year we were encouraged to think of the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces both past and present, and I hope all Service Personnel recognise this support.”

Remembrance Services in the Borough will conclude on Sunday, November 19th when a service will be held at St Thomas’ Church on Rathlin Island followed by wreath laying in the adjoining church yard.
