Tourism providers across the Causeway Coast and Glens have enhanced their online presence through a series of digital marketing workshops.
Organised by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s tourism team, the free programme focused on social media and website optimisation.
50 participants took part in the sessions, which were delivered by Social Bee NI.
The importance of being mobile friendly, online advertising and the use of analytical tools were some of the themes explored.
The final session concentrated on managing your online reputation, including the best social media platforms, use of social influencers, Trip Advisor and emerging technology.
The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Joan Baird OBE said: “Council is committed to providing practical support to our tourism providers which will encourage them to reach their full potential. Given the importance of having an effective online presence, there was a lot of interest in these workshops and I’m delighted to see that feedback has been very positive.”
Kerrie McGonigle, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Destination Manager said: “Digital marketing is one of the most effective ways for a tourism business to promote their services and build their profile. With this in mind, these workshops provided an opportunity for businesses to explore this further and enhance their skills.”
Applications are now open for World Host Principles of Customer Service training which will take place on Tuesday 17th April in Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s offices in Coleraine. The cost is £15 per participant. This training has been 50% subsidised by Council.
