Stephen Lowry has been appointed the Social Enterprise Champion for the Causeway Coast and Glens area. Stephen is keen to meet any existing or aspiring social enterprises in the Borough, as well as any businesses wishing to work with a social enterprise, to meet their social value targets.
What the Social Enterprise Champion Will Do
- Raise awareness of the social economy and the work within it across the region.
- Help create a social enterprising culture and increase the level of financially sustainable social economy organisations across the region.
- Understand and lead the development of the sector.
- Work to engage more social enterprises within your agencies, supply chains and influence procurement to drive social value.
- Provide a platform for collaboration and partnership working within the sector, individual agencies and private sector and work together to develop initiatives that foster the business skills and knowledge of the social economy sector.
- Promote the concept of social enterprise as viable business models across the region through their own network and individual agencies.
