Performance Measurement: Driving Impact and Accountability

Community & Culture is committed to planning, delivering, and evaluating programmes with a clear focus on achieving meaningful outcomes.

Our performance approach asks three key questions:

  • How much did we do?
  • How well did we do it?
  • Is anyone better off?

Effective performance management means actively monitoring progress and responding to real-world results—not just plans on paper.

Why it matters:

  1. To improve impact – by tracking actions, measuring outcomes, and refining delivery based on evidence.
  2. To stay accountable – by clearly reporting progress and value for money to funders, Council, and the community.

Each service area delivers projects aligned to local priorities, with agreed actions and performance measures that show whether real change is happening.

Results are reported annually to Council and funders, ensuring transparency and a shared understanding of what’s working—and where to improve.
