The introduction and implementation of a Redundancy Policy outlines the procedure for dealing with compulsory redundancy situations, with provision for voluntary redundancy/severance or early retirement requests (subject to management direction) from those who are interested and eligible.

As an internal employee policy, the Redundancy Policy is not likely to impact on employees in rural areas as the policy will be consistently applied across all employees as the nature of the policy will focus on job roles at risk of redundancy rather than individuals. The direct outcomes of the policy delivered for employees based in rural areas are expected to be consistent with the outcomes delivered for employees based in urban areas. In circumstances for example where the details of suitable alternative employment may need to be considered in line with rural needs, this will be consulted upon on an individual basis.
