Causeway Coast and Glens Headquarters, Cloonavin, will light up pink tonight (Saturday, April 25) to mark Global Intergenerational Week.
Global Intergenerational Week, which runs from Friday, April 24 to Saturday, May 1 is a campaign connecting everyone who is passionate about intergenerational practice.
It aims to inspire individuals, groups, and organisations to embrace opportunities that bring people of all ages together, particularly younger and older generations, helping to build meaningful connections and lasting friendships.
Stephanie Scott, Age Friendly Coordinator at Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, said: "Intergenerational connections bring so much life and learning to our communities.
“We’re delighted to mark #GIW26 by lighting up our buildings pink and celebrating the incredible ways people of all ages can come together, share experiences, and build friendships."
Northern Ireland will join 14 countries from across the globe to celebrate intergenerational good practice, sharing ideas, moments, and opportunities happening within our own communities.
Vicki Titterington, Director of Linking Generations NI, added: "Global Intergenerational Week is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the value of intergenerational practice. We encourage everyone across Northern Ireland to get involved, share your activities, and inspire others to embrace intergenerational connections."
There are already many groups, organisations, and communities across the Causeway Coast and Glens area taking part in intergenerational activities.
Share your photos, stories, and events by tagging Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and Linking Generations NI.
Let’s celebrate the amazing intergenerational work happening locally and inspire others to join in #GIW26.
