Council facilities update

Following clarification of the most recent NI Executive Covid 19 restrictions, council can provide the following update, which has been developed in accordance with the relevant governing body guidance.
- Council’s swimming pools will remain open, but on a reduced schedule for lane swimming only.
- Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate family sessions, school or club swimming in the pools.
- While gym areas remain open for individual training, we are unable to facilitate group exercise classes.
- You will be informed when online classes are set-up as an alternative.
- Council’s grass and synthetic pitches will close now that training and matches have all been suspended.
- Community Centres will close except for essential childcare bookings.

Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart, Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre in Limavady and Ballymoney Museum will close.
The restrictions above take effect from 1800hrs on Friday 16th October 2020 for the next four weeks.
Touring Van and Camping Facilities Close at Council Owned Holiday and Leisure Parks.
In response to the most recent threat to public health posed by the Coronavirus COVID 19, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council under the direction of the NI Executive has closed all facilities for touring caravans at its Holiday and Leisure Parks.
This is from immediate effect and the Parks affected include Benone, Carrick Dhu, Cushendall, Cushendun, Juniper Hill and Drumaheglis (also all camping and pod facilities will be closed). This will be for a minimum period of 28 days. Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council regrets any inconvenience caused to customers who had planned to use our touring and camping facilities over the next few weeks.
There are no restrictions on static van access, however all toilet, shower and communal spaces will be closed.

Council’s Play Parks remain open but we would remind parents of the following guidance:
- Social Distancing - When visiting a play park make sure that you follow current government guidance on social distancing, encourage and support your children to do the same and keep a safe distance from others not in your household/social bubble
- Busy Play Parks - If the play park is busy, consider coming back at a later time and let your child know in advance that this may be a possibility to avoid disappointment
- Hand Washing - Wash your hands and your children’s hand’s before and after visiting the play park. Take hand sanitiser with you and ensure you and your child use it frequently whilst in the play park
- Waste Management - Make sure that any disposable tissues, PPE equipment etc. is disposed of in the litter bins provided or, if one is not available take it home for disposal
- Be Sensible - If you or anyone in your household are showing any Coronavirus symptoms, stay home and do not visit the play park.
