New exhibitions at Flowerfield Arts Centre

Flowerfield Arts Centre is pleased to launch two new exhibitions in its beautiful Georgian galleries in Portstewart on Saturday 29th February from 2pm to 3pm.
Coleraine Citizens Wallpaper is a captivating photographic and sonic installation by photo journalist Martin Nangle, which documents the natural phenomena and living communities of this spectacular area. It involves citizens’ journalism, photojournalism and sound art to document contemporary life in areas across the north of Ulster from Inishowen to the Giant’s Causeway.
The project, which is due to be completed in 2020, will feature a province-wide tapestry involving community participants. The creation of a large-scale 65m canvas will reflect contemporary culture, tradition, citizenship and identity from the Atlantic Ocean to the Irish Sea. The exhibition is produced by the Associated Photojournalism for Art and Culture (APAC).
Alongside this, ‘Touched by Time’ is a print, pastels and mixed media exhibition by artist Rosella Watton Austin, whose unique artwork features strong, bold colours and an ethereal quality. Rosella has exhibited widely throughout Ireland, London, Tokyo and Canada. Her work has been auctioned at the prestigious Sotheby's, she won the Bass Ireland Contemporary Art Award in 2002 and she features in the collections of the BBC, Ulster University, The Irish News and Bass Ireland. Rosella graduated from the University of Ulster in 1992 with a degree in Fine Art and a Post-graduate diploma in Fine and Applied Art in 1993.
Both exhibitions will continue until March 28th. Free group tours are welcome.
