Stallholders required for Good Relations Teacher Conference
Tue, November 12, 2019
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Good Relations team is organising a Teachers’ Conference in February 2020 in partnership with the Education Authority.
The event aims to encourage collaboration and community connections and will provide an opportunity for organisations to make connections with up to 100 invited local schools. While it will largely be aimed at Primary Schools, some Post Primary Schools will also be in attendance.
As part of preparation for the conference, the Good Relations team is now looking for potential stallholders. Does your organisation have an activity to offer schools that you’re already resourced to do? Or is there something you could deliver if funding could be sourced? If yes, you may be able to avail of a free stand to promote your services.
The conference is designed to assist schools in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area who are already involved in Shared Education with a partner school, or who are interested in becoming involved in this initiative to encourage the normalisation of cross-community contact and joint educational experiences. The conference theme will be Collaboration.
Schools are seeking external providers who can facilitate shared experiences for their pupils to come together – these experiences do not need to be focussed on Good Relations themes, but can reflect any part of the curriculum. The conference is open to all, whether your organisation is in the community/ voluntary sector or you are a business owner.
We cannot guarantee that your attendance at the conference will produce new business for you, but we hope that the connections made will prove fruitful for both teachers and stallholders.
Date & Times
The conference will be held on Thursday 27th February 2020 at Ulster University (Coleraine) and is aimed at school teachers and Principals from schools within our Borough. Part of the conference programme will be dedicated to giving teachers time to talk to a number of organisations at our “Marketplace”. We hope to have up to 30 organisations involved who can offer an activity to bring two schools together as part of their Shared Education commitment and time together.
