Upskill or reskill with £500 from the Personal Learning Account Fund
Applications are now open for the latest round of Causeway Coast and Glens Labour Market Partnership’s Personal Learning Account Fund.
The fund, which can provide up to £500 towards accredited or industry recognised training, is available to all residents throughout the Borough aged sixteen plus, with a right to work in the UK.
Previously funded courses have included HGV training and licenses, CSR cards and Health and Social Care qualifications.
To be eligible for this funding you must:
- Be aged 16 plus
- Be resident in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area.
- Be eligible to work in the UK
The fund is now open, with a straightforward application process however if you do require assistance the LMP team are happy to help.
The key thing to demonstrate in your application is how this funding will improve your employment opportunities. Applications to the fund will be assessed regularly to ensure a quick turnaround.
All training, assessment and accreditation must commence by 31st March 2025 and be completed by 30th of June 2025.
Funding is allocated via a competitive process and funding is not guaranteed.
Therefore, any costs incurred prior to the Assessment Panel Approval / Rejection
are not the responsibility of Council.
If course fees (either a deposit or in full) must be paid prior to making your
application these are made at your own risk and Council are under no obligation if
your application is unsuccessful. We encourage applicants to not pay any fees until
the Letter of Offer is received and accepted.
Where a deposit or payment is required to secure a place on the course, it must be
made paid no more than 30 calendar days prior to applying for the fund.
Please be aware that all grant applications MUST be submitted prior to the course
start date. Applications received after the course begins will not be eligible.

The call for applications will close at 12.00pm noon on Thursday 20th March 2025.
If you have received a Letter of Offer stating your grant has been successful - you will need to do the following to receive payment if you require it in advance of course completion.
Payment of grant aid will be paid 100% in advanced upon receipt of proof of the following;
- Please clarify how the balance of the course will be paid (if the course is more expensive than the grant award amount), please include evidence to support this. If this is being paid in installments please provide evidence of this.
- Please send evidence to confirm that an offer of a place on the course or enrollment is confirmed.
- If payment in advance is required before enrollment can be confirmed please email grants@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk
