Upskill or reskill with £500 from the Personal Learning Account Fund
Applications are now open for the latest round of Causeway Coast and Glens Labour Market Partnership’s Personal Learning Account Fund.
The fund can provide up to £500 towards accredited or industry recognised training required for career development.
To be eligible for this funding you must:
- Be aged 16 plus
- Be resident in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area.
- Be eligible to work in the UK.

All training, assessment and accreditation must be started by Friday the 31st October 2025 and completed by Tuesday the 30th of June 2026.
The key thing to demonstrate in your application is how this funding will improve your employment opportunities.
The call for applications will close at 12.00pm noon on Wednesday 22nd October 2025.
Important Notes
Funding is allocated via a competitive process and funding is not guaranteed.
Any costs incurred prior to the Assessment Panel Approval / Rejection
are not the responsibility of Council.
If course fees (either a deposit or in full) must be paid prior to making your
application these are made at your own risk and Council are under no obligation if
your application is unsuccessful. We encourage applicants to not pay any fees until
the Letter of Offer is received and accepted.
Where a deposit or payment is required to secure a place on the course, it must be
made paid no more than 30 calendar days prior to applying for the fund.
Please be aware that all grant applications MUST be submitted prior to the course
start date. Applications received after the course begins will not be eligible.

When is Payment Made?
If you have received a Letter of Offer stating your grant has been successful - you will NOT be paid automatically before you complete your course.
Automatic payments are given at the end when the claim files are returned. Alternatively, if you require payment in advance, you MUST request this by emailing grants@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk (please include evidence of course enrolment if possible).
Claim Returns
All Personal Learning Account grant recipients will need to provide the following after completing their course to finish their claim:
- Fill out and return the Claim Checker form (download here).
- Provide the certificate from your course.
- Please provide course payment receipt.
You will then be paid if you haven't requested payment in advance.
Please note ALL Grant recipients must also complete LMP monitoring forms which will be emailed. However, as these are separate to claim returns they can be completed after a claim has been returned.
