Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has unveiled its Easter sport and recreation programme.

The jam packed line-up, developed by Council’s Sport Development and Physical Recreation Team, is aimed at young people between the ages of 4 and 14.

The activities kick off on Wednesday 19th April and will run until Friday 21st April.

The programme has a new look this year, with activities in the morning such as a Football Camp, Tennis Camp and the popular Girls ‘Allowed’ Fun Activity Camp.

The afternoon session will include a Hockey Camp for children aged 7 to 14 years at the Astroturf facility in Rugby Avenue.

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Alderman Maura Hickey said: “The programme has so much to offer this year, and I would encourage all young people to get involved. It’s the perfect opportunity to try out something new, and have fun at the same time.”

Stephen McCartney, Council’s Sports Development and Physical Recreation Manager (Central) said: “We have a great variety this year, including our Girls ‘Allowed’ Fun Activity Camp, which is the perfect mix of fun, sport and dance activities while our ever popular Football Camp is back again with skill enhancement, small sided games and match practice for all boys and girls at the 3G pitch at Rugby Avenue.

“The Hockey Camp gives young people the opportunity to try one of the fastest growing sports in the world, make new friends and have fun while improving their physical skills and techniques.  Our coaches have worked on Ulster Hockey programmes, and guarantee to make it a fantastic camp.”

All sessions will be led by qualified coaches and all necessary equipment will be provided.

It is advised that children wear suitable clothing and footwear throughout the activities and it should be noted that synthetic pitches do not allow metal or aluminium studs.

For all outdoor activities, children are advised to bring a towel and a change of clothes.

The full price for individuals to participate per camp is £18 for the three days. There is also a special family ticket available priced at £45 for three or more children per camp, from the same immediate family.

Enrolment will commence on Friday 10th March at 10am at Coleraine Leisure Centre.

Application forms are available from 7th March at Coleraine Leisure Centre, the Leisure Services Department in Cloonavin or by clicking on the link available below.
