A supervisor with Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has been honoured by the Briggs Equipment North West 200, for his dedication to the event.
Andy Scott, Council’s Estates Supervisor, has been involved in the behind-the-scenes set-up of the NW200 for the past 15 years.
Although Andy was presented with the award at a special event held on the Friday before the races, he was keen to recognise the contribution of his team.
“Council staff play a major role in the preparations for the NW200,” said Andy.
“In the weeks leading up to the event, Council staff are involved in all aspects of the set-up, including the removal of street furniture, health and safety inspections, signage, fencing, safety improvements, and support on race days with the events side of the races.
“I was really delighted to receive the award, but I couldn’t do this year after year without the team of Council staff behind me.”
Causeway Coast and Glens Chief Executive David Jackson added: “Council events simply would not happen without the work of Andy Scott and his team.
“It is wonderful that the North West 200 team has recognised the excellent support that Andy and the team provide to the event every year.”
