Thu, March 14, 2019
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has unveiled its Easter Sports and Activity Programme for young people.
Aimed at children between the ages of 4 and 14, the activities will take place on April 24th, 25th and 26th.
Activity camps will take place throughout the area with highlights in Ballymoney including a Football Camp at the 3G pitch and a Girls ‘Allowed’ Fun Activity Camp at Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre.
In Coleraine, children can take part in football and hockey at Rugby Avenue while tennis will take place in Anderson Park.
Dungiven Sports Centre will host Gaelic Football while there will be a tennis camp at Limavady Recreation Club.
This year also includes activities in Cushendall with children getting the opportunity to take part in netball and football at the Youth Club.
The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Councillor Brenda Chivers said: “The programme has so much to offer this year, with a great variety of camps taking place throughout the Borough. The Easter break is a fantastic chance for our young people to get active and I would encourage everyone to take a look at the programme and perhaps take the opportunity to try something new.”
All sessions will be led by qualified coaches and all necessary equipment will be provided.
Children should wear suitable clothing and footwear throughout the activities and it should be noted that synthetic pitches do not allow metal or aluminium studs.
For all outdoor activities, children are advised to bring a towel and a change of clothes.
The full price for individuals to participate per camp is £18 for the three days. There is also a special family ticket priced at £45 for three or more children per camp, from the same immediate family.
Enrolment will commence on Friday 22nd March at 10am at Coleraine Leisure Centre, Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre, Ballymoney, Roe Valley Leisure Centre, Limavady, Sheskburn Recreation Centre, Ballycastle and Cushendall Development Group (25 Mill Street, Cushendall).
