A major touring exhibition of the World Illustration Awards 2015 will be exhibited at Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre in Limavady from 4th March to 2nd April 2016.
Launched and first exhibited at the prestigious Somerset House in London, the exhibition is created by The Association of Illustrators UK in partnership with the USA’s Directory of Illustration.
The annual awards recognise the exceptional work produced by illustrators around the world and promote illustration as an essential contributor to global visual culture. Work by a wide range of international illustrators will be included, from the UK to South Korea and South Africa and The Netherlands. Over fifty framed works will be on display in the Arts Centre’s two galleries, as well as video animations, an iPad game application and sculpture.
The exhibition includes the sixteen category winners whose work was selected from over 2,000 entries and honoured for its creativity and craftsmanship.
Arts & Cultural Services Officer and Centre Manager, Desima Connolly said: “We are absolutely delighted to host this extraordinary and significant exhibition which celebrates the best of worldwide illustration. In fact, this is the first time it has toured to Northern Ireland, and it’s coming to Limavady!”
