Nine new traders have successfully completed the Causeway Coast and Glens ‘Journey to Market’ programme, equipping them with the skills to take their products to market.
Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Oliver McMullan welcomed the traders to Cloonavin last week and congratulated them on their achievement.
Councillor McMullan said: “I would like to congratulate all nine participants on successfully completing the ‘Journey to Market’ programme.
“Their entrepreneurial spirit has been evident throughout the course, and it is fantastic to see them now ready to take the next step in showcasing their products at the Causeway Speciality Market.
“This programme highlights the importance of supporting local businesses and promoting new talent within our Borough. I wish each of the traders every success for the future and look forward to seeing their businesses grow and thrive.”
Delivered by Council’s Town and Village Team in partnership with Seasons of the Glens and Causeway Foodie Tours, the ‘Journey to Market’ programme provided participants with tailored guidance and one-to-one mentoring to help develop and grow their businesses.
The programme included workshops on selling and pricing, alongside training in compliance, branding and marketing, giving participants practical tools and knowledge to successfully launch and promote their products.
As a result, Causeway Speciality Market now welcomes nine new traders who are ready to showcase their products and contribute to the vibrant local artisan and food offering that the market brings.
The Causeway Speciality Market is Northern Ireland's largest regular outdoor market. The market runs on the second and fourth Saturday of each month between April and December, from 9 am to 4 pm around Coleraine Town Hall.
A Celebration Market will take place on Saturday 11 July to mark 20 years of trading.
