The Mayor has held a special reception in Cloonavin to recognise residents from Causeway Coast and Glens who were included in The King’s New Year Honours list.
Guests who attended the reception included MBE recipients Julie Erskine, for services to health and social care; Alistair Jinks MBE, for services to the environment and to the economy; Helen Mark DL MBE, for services to broadcasting; and Margaret Peacock, for services to the community in Coleraine.
Also in attendance were Rebecca Wray, who was awarded a BEM for services to volunteering in Northern Ireland, and Eleanor Wolfenden-Orr, who was recognised with a BEM for services to charitable fundraising and to the community in Northern Ireland.
Other residents of the Borough who were named on the King’s New Year Honours List included Prof Paul Bartholomew, who was awarded a CBE for services to higher education and public service; and Margaret Peacock, honoured for services to the community in Coleraine.
Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Oliver McMullan, said: “I was delighted to meet with some of those recognised to find out more about their work.
“The New Year Honours highlights the outstanding contributions that individuals from our Council area have made to their communities across a wide range of areas of disciplines and they are fantastic ambassadors for Causeway Coast and Glens.
“On behalf of Council, I wish to offer my congratulations and sincere thanks for their incredible work.”
