The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens has joined with children from the local area as his special guests for the official opening of Greysteel Play Park.

The completion of recent upgrade works was marked by members of the community, the Mayor Councillor Ciarán McQuillan, Elected Members and invited guests on Wednesday, 4th September.

The park now offers state-of-the-art play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities to enjoy together and welcoming the new facilities the Mayor, Councillor Ciarán McQuillan said: “I am thrilled to announce the completion of the works to upgrade Greysteel Play Park on behalf of Council.

“Since the gates opened in August, the park has been well-received by the public and most importantly the children and it now provides a fantastic space for local families, schools, and visitors to the village.

“The level of usage to date highlights the importance of creating and maintaining a welcoming and safe space for play, thus benefiting the health and well-being of our young people into the future.

“The works to the Park have been completed by local Play Park specialist contractor Hawthorne Heights, and I would like to thank them for their support, design expertise and for the quality of work they have provided during this project.”

The newly renovated facility features different zones and exciting play equipment, including an inclusive orbit roundabout, interactive activity walls, and a timber aerial runway. Additionally, there is a "quiet space" available for those seeking a sensory experience.
