Share your pledge with Council's Good Relations Team

During the unprecedented time of crisis over the past few months, we have seen an amazing response to the pandemic that has affected us all in many ways.
Lockdown, social distancing, not being able to visit family and friends, queuing at the shops for essential goods, a lack of essential supplies, working from home, not being able to work at all, home schooling, food poverty and clapping the NHS are all things we have shared and experienced together.
In response, we have seen local communities pulling out all the stops, helping each other in the time of crisis – delivering food and prescriptions, caring for those who got sick, helping the most vulnerable, working together, sharing resources, holding us together— forgetting the problems of the past and focusing on what is happening at present. Together ensuring that a future is secured for us all!
This is now a time when we need to turn the lessons of the crisis into the foundation for creating a better future. If we want the future to be different from the past, we need to change, we need the continued commitment that we have experienced over the last few months and build on the ever growing strengths that we have seen within and between our neighbourhoods.
Many of us have felt a huge sense of community belonging over the past few months and we want this to continue to increase. We want to hear about your commitment, your “pledge” to do something that will contribute to building a more cohesive and united community for us all.

We will gather all the pledges and print them in a booklet and also put them onto our Good Relations page on the Council website so that we can hold ourselves accountable to carry out our pledge.
