Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre is screening the inspirational film, Young Plato, on Wednesday 16th March at 7pm.
The film focuses on a Belfast Primary School based in the Ardoyne housing estate and invokes the wisdom of ancient Greek philosopher to fight poverty, drug dealers and sectarianism to restore hope in the heart of a battered community.
There’ll also be an opportunity to see it at Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart on Thursday 28th April.
Young Plato has previously been picked for DOC NYC, America’s largest documentary Film Festival, as a truly inspiring work of hope and resilience, and one not to be missed.
Against a seemingly hopeless background, its story features an inspiring headmaster who wants to change the narrative and help pupils and the wider community to find hope and purpose. It seems inconceivable, but the answer lies in the philosophical teachings of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle.
Group discounts are available.
