Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre is proud to launch August Children’s Month, a vibrant programme of film, theatre, art and creative workshops designed to inspire and delight families all summer long.
The festivities begin with a free family-friendly launch event on Saturday 2nd August from 1pm – 3.30pm, featuring a magical afternoon of pop-up art, live music, face painting, storytelling, walkabout characters and theatre.
Alongside the launch event, is the official opening of the whimsical new exhibition, The Pooka & Other Stories by celebrated Illustrator and Author Shona Shirley McDonald.
Running from 2nd – 30th August, this enchanting exhibition invites visitors to step into a world of folklore and fantasy through beautifully detailed illustrations that spark curiosity and wonder in children and adults alike.
Throughout the month, the centre will host a diverse range of children’s film screenings, live performances and hands-on creative workshops, providing families with a space to explore, imagine and connect. From musical singalongs and theatrical adventures to science-based workshops and colourful crafts, each week brings something new to enjoy.
With activities such as fused glass art, magical marbling, storytelling theatre, and even potion-making, August Children’s Month is designed to keep young minds engaged and inspired in a friendly, welcoming environment.
Many workshops are already booking up, so early registration is recommended to avoid disappointment.
Whether you're a budding artist, a curious scientist, or simply looking for meaningful ways to spend time with your family this summer, Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre offers a space where creativity and imagination take centre stage.
