Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Town & Village Management team have announced the first ever Ballymoney Spring Fair Best Window Display Competition for 2025.

After the success of the annual winter competition across the Borough the team are asking Ballymoney business owners located in the town centre to show their support for Ballymoney Spring Fair through eye catching window displays.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Ciarán McQuillan said: “The contest, new for 2025 is an ideal opportunity for Ballymoney business owners to celebrate alongside the annual Spring Fair and showcase the wonderful array of products, produce and services Ballymoney offers both locals and visitors.”

The winner of the 2025 best window will be presented with a beautifully designed prize which has been handcrafted expertly by Ballymoney local Alan Dean of Scenic Woodcraft, on behalf of Council.

Alan Dean who is proud to be a sustainable crafter, uses wood from trees that have fallen in storms or ones that had to be felled, he said: “I was delighted to be asked to create this award, I have made it from reclaimed applewood, with the circular design representing the promise of changing seasons.

“The dark circle around the outside of the award represents the long winter months and the bursts of colour represent spring breaking through, while the colours used are all from a spring colour pallet, I hope the winning business will display this with pride in their shop.”

The Mayor added: “This competition is open to all businesses based in Ballymoney town centre. Please have your window dressed in a Spring theme for the first day of Ballymoney Spring Fair on Friday 11 April 2025 and good luck to everyone who participates!”

Judging will take place on Saturday 12 April and the winner will be announced before the Fair ends.
